I always think of the live shows at amusement parks as a attraction for the parents to plop their kids down for a little bit so they can rest, or for something for the grandparents of the family to go and sit and watch. But I have to agree that they are legitimate live entertainment experiences just the same as plays or musicals. I am surprised that the Shamoo show was not one of the shows listed there. I was wondering if they didn’t want to list it because it was an animal show, or because of the “Blackfish” controversy surrounding it. But I would have to imagine that these shows are under a much heavier rigor-of-repeatability that even touring or broadway shows are. They have to be short, but I can imagine that some of them are performed 30 or 40 times a day, and the scenery and mechanics of the performance have to handle that.
I basically wanted to read this article because i was curious on what the best live shows in theme parks were. And was so ironic is that most of them are located in Florida where I live. I love to see that I grew up with all of the creative entertainment. No wonder I want to be a part of it. It has surrounded my life ever since I was a child. And I love it. This article really allows me to appreciate what field I'm going into. And know people who are a part of these entertainment experiences makes me feel like I'm closer to my future career than I think. I'm so blessed with where I came from and I hope to further my connections this summer working close to these area. I also wanted to say that I think the Lion King experience, for this list, is my top favorite live show. Gotta love those monkeys!
