Behind the Scenes Counts on Roscolux #359

I think it’s wonderful that rosco would donate all the benefits of a certain gel to an organization that helps stagehands with medical bills, but I think that it’s a little unfortunate that those donations have to be dependent on how frequently a lighting designer choses to have that particular shade of violet in their show. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good color, but I think that it might be more charitable to have a certain percentage of gel profits being donated to charity. Even if it comes out to roughly the same dollar amount, at least it wouldn’t be dependent on the popularity of a color, it would be dependent of the popularity of rosco gels, which seems to me a little bit more stable. It is interesting though, to think about the demand of certain colors from rosco, I know I certainly like specific colors for specific things, so I’ll have to add R 359 to my list of go to colors.
