Stuntmen in LED Suits Made This Impossible Parkour Run a Reality
gizmodo.com: The advent of CGI has allowed us to realize things on-screen we never thought would be possible—from living, breathing dinosaurs, to giant transforming robots. But it's become so over-used that over-the-top practical effects now draw the biggest wows from audiences, like Lexus' use of countless LED-suit clad stuntmen to create one unbelievable parkour run across Kuala Lumpur.

CGI is a still relatively new form of animation that allows us to bring new images that we never thought was possible to the big screen. Many will argue that this new technology is retracting from the story that have always been the true purpose for us to go see a movie. Now they say that it is becoming the technological advances that we are going to see. I disagree, while the technological advances that take place in movies are exciting, I do not think they take the attention completely away from the story. I think that people will always know that they are there for the story. Of course, there are some technological strategies that draw more attention then others. I think that when a form of CGI is linked to a stuntman such as a CGI capture project it is less exciting technologically to the viewer. When it is a fully CGI animated character or element to a film, it tends to be more exciting. The film industry is changing but we have to remember that although the way we make movies is changing, the most important thing will always be the story.
