Recording: In The Studio: How To Visualize Your Mix Before Moving The First Fader

Pro Sound Web: Most mixers can hear some version of the final product in their heads before they get too far into the mix. This is because they’ve heard rough mixes of the song many times before during production, but even if a mixer is brought in just for the mix, they listen to all the elements several times before they really get down to mixing.

AAAHHHHH! THIS IS AWESOME! I wish I understood sound! I did take the mini, and though I still don't really understand anything, I became really interested in sound design! This article is great because sound is so amazing and it's incredible to see how much thought is put into creating a mix. I give so much credit to those who do sound design because sound is not visual. It's hard to communicate through sounds becuase people here different things just like they see different things, yet we can grasp sight much better than sound. I want to learn more about sound and see if I can somehow incorporate it with a visual design. That would be really cool!

As Becki said, "AAAHHHHH! THIS IS AWESOME!" But unlike her I do have understanding of sound. As a sound designer I looked at this article thinking that i would be learning how sound design can be visual. This would've interested me for a variety of reasons including the fact that as of recently I have been getting slightly frustrated with all of these freshman projects having to do with visual design aspects (mainly due to my slight lack of skill in this subject). Being that this did not talk about this interested me slightly less. Though the article shows interesting facts, it is not something that I didn't know before. Having taken an audio production class in high school we learned the importance of visualizing your mix before you do it.
