Edinburgh Fringe stagehand almost died after breathing in audience member's perfume

Daily Record: A STAGEHAND almost died when he breathed in perfume at an Edinburgh Fringe show. Bryn Jones went into anaphylactic shock after he inhaled the scent from a member of the audience.
As his throat tightened and he began to struggle for breath, the 22-year-old managed to text a friend to bring him medication.
He even carried on with his technical duties throughout the play.
But by the time his medication arrived, Bryn was lying on the floor and his face had turned blue.

Well, I guess it is good to have dedicated people working for you, but there are some health limits. If you read the whole article linked, it says that he went to ANOTHER show right afterwards. I don't know many people that would be able to pick right up and do that. Health is as important as getting the job done!

I agree with k clark. Having people on your crew that are dedicated to the work are an essential and helpful part of any workforce. That being said, it is important to remember that we are human and are not indestructible. I am glad that no one was seriously injured in this performance but the outcome could have been a lot more grim. In a world where we are all committed to our work it must be remembered that our lives are sacred, much more valuable than the show.

"The show must go on (even if it's without me)" is perfectly fine. Protect yourself at all costs.
