Design
Foundry, a DC based event design and décor company is searching for the right
person to add to our growing production team to assist in the day to day
operations of the company. Design Foundry does all types of events around the
DMV area as well as across the country. We have custom carpentry, paint, and fabric
shops in house. The right person for this job will have a background in
theatrical or event management as well as an eye for design and interest in
taking on a leadership role. This is a great position for someone looking to
take the next step in their career with a drive to learn and grow. This
position will include night/weekend work as needed based on event schedule and
workload.
Qualifications:
BA in Theatre or related field
2-3 years experience in Theatrical or Event Management role
Experience in a supervisory role
Experience managing multiple projects at the same time
Strong customer service skills
Attention to detail
Working knowledge of current theatre technology equipment
Working knowledge of common safety protocols
Ability to work in high stress situations in a calm and thoughtful way
Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs and work at heights
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Auto CAD and/or Vectorworks
Experience with budgeting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in a live event environment
Design/Construction experience
Advanced knowledge of theatrical rigging and scenic/prop construction
Responsibilities will vary but may include assisting the production manager, technical director, and warehouse manager with day to day operations including hiring/scheduling crew, ordering supplies, working on-site with our clients and supervising crew at event sites, attending pre-event meetings, supervising work in our shops to ensure it meets our high standards and the project requirements, problem solving issues as they arise, and other duties as assigned. This position is directly supervised by the production manager
Salary/Benefits:
This position comes with full health benefits , 3 weeks paid time off, and 10 holiday days off. As this position will require night/weekend work, flexible comp time will be provided.
Salary is competitive and based on experience starting in the low 40's.
