It is great to hear that Martin is flowing the steps of Grand MA. They have had a similar program for some time now and allowed you to do a very simmer thing but to output you had to buy one of their nodes to our put but now with Martin allowing you to just use an Artnet node to output that may be a major selling factor in this system. But with moving light you can easily eat up the one universe of address. That is how Martin will make their money when people get use their programing they will only go to them and once they have more than one universe they will buy a console from them. I hope that a lot of groups find this out and use it in there productions when they can’t afford anything else.
I have often wondered when I could turn my laptop into a light board. I have already turned my laptop into a recording studio and a movie editing suit and a dark room. A few years ago I was in the market for this exact thing. I asked my lighting friends if there was a good USB to DMX control and they all suggest I just get a small light board. I wonder if this is a game changer. I am interested in what my friends in electrics think but since I have worked in small time theatre a lot, a PC easily programmable DMX control would be a lot easier than the 2x24 Leprechaun system that they have now.
