Stage Directions Summer Study Directory Launches Online
Stage Directions: This year, Stage Directions is taking its Summer Study Directory online. The annual guide to summer programs for kids, teens, college students and professionals will now be a part of the Theatre Resources Directory online. Any program—whether it is a camp, a school, a college, university, or a training program run by a theatre—can submit their data online at trd.stage-directions.com to be listed in the popular summer directory.

It is fantastic that there is a free resource for students to look up programs and summer study opportunities. I know that the Educational Theatre Association also publishes a similar guide, however you have to be a subscriber to the magazine (or a Thespian). Summer programs can be a great resource for students in developing skills or deciding if theatre/entertainment is something they are truly interested in pursuing. Or, for those who have already decided, what steps might be next. The other thing that seems really great about this directory is that it caters not only to high school and college students, but also to young professionals. The only thing I am unclear about is how to access the database as someone who is interested in a program (versus someone posting an opportunity, the method for which is listed).
