This would be so interesting to attend. Its a wonderful idea to bring to together professionals from around the world, and see how they do things differently. It also is interesting that they will be 'Industry common practice' because I am sure it can get confusing at times, to try to figure out how 'standard' to make something as flexible as rigging. I think it is also funny to hear that they are going to address,'how riggers themselves can contribute towards improvements in venue rigging systems'. I find it funny because just last week in OSHA we learned that the best way to implement safety and keep things running smoothly is to involve the workers themselves. And it looks like the Rigging industry is doing just that.
I am surprised that the speakers and pannelists were not announced earlier. It seems like this collection of professions would encourage more people to attend, especially if they were on the fence. This article was posted at the end of August, with the conference after the first full week in September, meaning two weeks before the event. Since the PLASA Rigging Conference date is established so far in advance and the speakers are likely confirmed at least a month before the actual conference, what is the wait on releasing part of a speaker list?
