Fringe: At the World Fringe Congress
2AMt: As Outreach Director for the Hollywood Fringe Festival, my job takes me to a lot of interesting places and introduces me to a lot of interesting people – this year, I was given the opportunity to “outreach” the farthest I’d ever reached before: the first World Fringe Congress, a four-day meeting for festival directors from across the globe in the heart of The Big One, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

I think that the Fringe festivals all around the world are some of the most useful and honest things that can help theatre and the entertainment industry grow. It is interesting to hear how many representatives got together from all around the world to just talk about what they do and to share what theyve learned. I like how the author phrased it in saying 'A United Nations of the Arts'. How cool is that? A massive conglomerate that's sole purpose is for bringing people and the art together. I would relish the opportunity to be able to hear some of the stories and traditions of how art is created and produced for the public in other countries. I hope that Fringe Festivals continue to spread around the world, and that people continue to stay unified through art.
