At first glance, the Maker Fair seems cool, but after pursuing the website it doesn't seem so cool. I could very well be wrong, as I haven't been to this, but it seems to be primarily geared toward children, although they make "for all ages" very, very clear. When I think about it, I've never been to anything I enjoyed that boasted, "fun for all ages!" It sounds more like, "This looks like a children's event, but it's not *all* a children's event. Really. We promise. There's 5% of things you will actually like. Please buy tickets."

I also have never been to the Maker Fair. This will be my first year, and I am looking forward to it. I think that it will be a lot of fun getting to see all the different inventions and creations of people around Pittsburgh. I disagree with Rachael though in that I dont think that it is necessarily a bad thing when something like this is primarily geared towards children. For a few reasons; one of which is that seeing cool new things that are artsy or science-y and are geared for children can be entertaining and fun, because it can take you back. Two, if you go with friends or with small children that you have in your life, its just something fun to do outside, and if you arent enjoying yourself you can leave.
