Why has PLASA not had some standard for orchestra lifts established before? I imagine there is a structural building code for orchestra lifts already. Will adding an article into the PLASA standards really help? Theatres which were not built to the standard which PLASA has set forth will need to be re-built or added to, which could be quite taxing both financially and as far as time not spent on production, possibly even resulting in some places dropping the PLASA standards. So are the standards in building code really ot enough?
