I think one of the best tips in this article that is not as common as the others is the need to be specific with ideas. Of course, another valuable tip that is so valuable that it's okay that I've seen it in multiple articles like these is to stop attempting perfection. It's so true that perfectionism is the death to many ideas and should be avoided.
This article seems to contradict itself in certain places, undermining its effectiveness. In particular, the strategies of thinking about what the world needs and putting your wildest craziest ideas out there are contradictions. One says to offer only useful ideas, the other says to put it all out. Everything we've learned about brainstorming and idea generation says to not think about the viability of ideas when generating them- just throw everything out.
I also really like the idea of always being on the lookout for patterns and data. Keeping an eye out for pebbles in your shoe can show you where real needs exist.
