Unseam’d Shakespeare Company to offer classic plays ‘for the masses’
TribLIVE: The Unseam’d Shakespeare Company is using an age-old technique to offer a brand-new look at two Shakespeare plays.
Through June 23, a company of nine actors will perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Two Gentlemen of Verona” on alternating nights under the title “Shakespeare in the Raw.” “Shakespeare in the Raw” refers not to a lack of clothing, but to the minimally rehearsed performances in which actors hold small scrolls and make use of an on-stage prompter.
