Bookings Production Manager

The Shakespeare Theatre Company, the nation's foremost classical theatre, located in Washington, D.C., seeks an energetic, innovative, and experienced Bookings Production Manager (BPM) to join a team of five.  The BPM is primarily focused on bookings and rentals, but will also work on STC core repertory and presentations.  The BPM is responsible for using the available venue spaces to strategically realize a net income goal from rentals and STC presentations.  The BPM is responsible for developing and maintaining community partnerships with local performing arts partners and renters in conjunction with the Production, Marketing, Development, and Education departments.  Duties include but are not limited to: serve as main point of contact for outside companies, production manage  booked in events and STC presentations and productions as assigned, assist in development and management of core STC repertory as needed, creation of settlements and budgets, and oversee legal and safety compliance for all bookings.  The BPM reports directly to the Director of Production and works closely with the production team to maximize income, maintain the STC work environment, and strategically plan for the future.


Bachelor's degree in Theater or equivalent experience required.  Minimum of 3-5 years experience in progressively responsible production-related management required. Business acumen and exceptionally high production and business standards are required.  Experience with complex calendaring software and extensive Excel knowledge preferred. This position works many nights and weekends.  Competitive salary and excellent benefits.
