Position Summary
The position is full time, exempt, managerial position which
oversees all production operations and
personnel; guest designers and directors; company, shop, and production
schedules; and production budgets.
Essential Responsibilities
- With General Manager, develops and oversees the annual production schedules and master calendars.
- Oversees creation, implementation, tracking, and expenditures of budgets for all production and design areas.
- Organizes, schedules, and attends rehearsals, production/design meetings, load-ins, technical and dress rehearsals, performances, maintenance calls, and other events. Allocates production time on stage.
- Acts as liaison with designers and directors as designs are produced and implemented.
- Acts as liaison between Production and all other PCS departments, attends staff and senior staff meetings, budget meetings, Board meetings, and other PCS functions. Communicates the needs and issues of the Production departments to senior staff.
- Negotiates and oversees contracts and compliance for all designers, directors, choreographers, composers.
- Advises in use of labor, materials, and capital equipment for all production departments.
- Coordinates upkeep and maintenance all theatre, backstage and shop spaces for efficiency, quality, and safety. Assures that production department heads maintain all equipment and facilities in optimum condition. Maintains master equipment inventory lists for all Production Departments.
- Supervises all design and shop deadlines and insures that deadlines are met.
- Informs Artistic Director and General Manager of potential conflicts affecting schedules, budgets and personnel.
- Resolves budget, labor and time conflicts between designers, production departments, and other PCS functions.
- Hires department heads and personnel for sets, properties, sound, lighting, stage management, design and costumes departments.
- Manages company vehicles registration, maintenance, and driver compliance.
- Oversees safety committee, safety programs and implementation for OSHA, Worker’s Comp, and SAIF.
- Assists as needed with facility rentals scheduling, setups, and production personnel.
Qualifications
- MFA or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in regional theatre and theatrical production management and a broad background in most areas of technical theatre.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- The work hours are daytime with weekend and evening work required.
- Must be comfortable working in an environment in which directions and priorities can change rapidly.
- This position can be physically demanding, requiring not only supervision of physical tasks such as lifting, construction, climbing ladders, maneuvering in tight spaces with multiple obstacles, but actually performing those tasks when necessary. Able to lift at least 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs regularly, climb ladders and stairs frequently.
