Time Code Survey Results
- John Huntington's Blog -: Back at the end of May, while working on the new edition of my book, I posted a call for respondents to a quick survey about the usage of time code in shows. I announced the results at Infocomm at the controlgeek.net geekout, and now finally have a bit of time to write things up.

What an interesting survey! The results resounded soundly with my venue's implementation and usage of time coding. Like the majority of respondents, we use time coding occasionally, usually when a show calls for it or when it would make our work significantly easier, such as for a cue intensive dance show. And, just like most everyone else, the guys/girls in audio get handed the duties of time coding. I was surprised at the lack of respondents using MIDI for time coding purposes. I am huge fan of Qlab for this purpose.
Additionally, I am curious as to why North America was overwhelming the region that respondents mostly worked with time coding. Is it because everyone only works in North America, or do other regions not use time coding as frequently?
