TDF Announces 2012 Irene Sharaff Award Winners
Stage Directions: TDF has announced that Carrie Robbins, two-time Tony Award nominee for her costume design, will receive the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design; scenic, lighting and costume designer (as well as educator) Lloyd Burlingame will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. At the May 4 ceremony TDF will also award costume designer Mathew LeFebvre with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Young Master Award, and author and designer Lynn Pecktal with the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award. The TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards were selected by the TDF Costume Collection's Advisory Committee and are presented through Theatre Development Fund's Costume Collection. The Irene Sharaff Awards honor the legacy of costume designer Irene Sharaff, whose work “exemplified the best of costume design.”
