I found this article to be extremely fascinating. I was really interested to see how a Broadway star felt about a show about Broadway. Like it stated in the article, it must be surreal to have left a job to only have a new one that puts what you did before on the screen. And another point was made within the article, I feel that too many times productions get caught up in the fact that they have a A-list movie or TV star in their show they often forget about the people who have spend years of their lives dedicated to live performances. I truly think that the actors of Broadway and live theater are significantly under appreciated as compared to the film and TV stars. It;s finally nice to see Broadway stars celebrated on the same level.
I am so glad to see that Broadway people are actually getting to star in a TV show about Broadway people! What a concept! It seems as though TV/movie celebrities have been the key to selling tickets on Broadway lately, so I'm glad that Broadway stars like Megan are getting a chance to steal the limelight back! One thing I found really interesting in this article was Megan's comment about the challenges of playing a character who's playing a character who's playing a character. It's sometimes easy to forget the complex characters that actors are dealing with and really trying to delve into. I can only imagine how much work she has put into getting to know every one of those characters in order to portray them as best she can. I'm so happy to see this CMU alum gaining more success and making a great name for Broadway in the TV industry!!
