RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Production Coordinator will oversee the coordination
and execution of a variety of performances and related projects at the Clarice
Smith Performing Arts Center, including large and complex events. The
Production Coordinator is responsible for advanced planning and coordination as
well as onsite event supervision. This includes: coordinating walkthroughs;
preparing accurate estimates; contracting and supervising temporary staff;
acquiring and managing requisite equipment and supplies; preparing the
facilities for artists’ needs; and ensuring adherence to established policies
and procedures to promote a safe and productive workplace. The Production
Coordinator manages the recruitment, hiring, scheduling and training of the
student staff of Event Services and works in a manner and style that
facilitates interdepartmental cooperation and collaboration. The
Production Coordinator develops and maintains an effective production process,
promotes a positive educational environment and ensures consistency of service
to the clients and resident academic units.
QUALIFICATIONS (Candidates will only be considered for
this position if minimum qualifications are met):
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a performing
arts or related field **OR** An equivalent combination of education and
experience; Two years of experience in performing arts stage management or
production management in at least two of the following: opera, theater, dance,
or concert music.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching and/or working in an educational
setting; Experience in implementing operating policies and procedures;
Demonstrated experience working with students and/or training and development
of staff; Knowledge of current practices and procedures in professional
performing arts management; Familiarity with current performing arts facilities,
equipment and technologies; Superior communication and customer service skills;
Strong organization and management skills.
