Beyond the fact that I find some humor in the fact that Hybrids are competing with power tools for lithium, I'm interested in seeing where the need for lithium takes battery technology. I'm also hoping that the big power tool companies also start really making an effort to call back old and no longer useful gear. I am sure that companies like Dewalt could harvest lithium from their older batteries and then use the metal more efficiently to make newer batteries. While the idea of stretching the remaining lithium is a good idea, I think it might also be a good approach for the current lithium users to recycle existing lithium as best they can.

X10 has been an interesting way to achieve inexpensive automation and computer control of many different systems. In the haunted house we used to use X10 wireless remotes to trigger effects as patrons would walk through (they were eventually replaces with automatic triggers, but in some cases still using X10 as the control mechanism). As X10 is gaining more of a foothold (as you'd expect for something that's been around for 20+ years now) it's only becoming more useful and more flexible.
