Commenting on the bit about needing stars, or big names, to get ticket sales up...Yes, I suppose it helps, but I wish it wasn't so. What sort of bothers me about this is when one of those big names first enter, and they get an applause upon their entrance. It completely takes audience members out of the story. The audience is also acknowledging the fame of an individual, rather than the hard work of a company. Ticket sales may go up, but what significance does this big name have to the story telling? Does this individual really embody the character? Are they the best choice to play that person, or would a lesser-known individual do a phenomenally better job?

Odd that Jeremy Pivin's AEA issues made the list, but Randy Quaid's hissy fit with his crazy lady wasn't there. I thought that story was pretty juicy! And in picking between the two, I think the Quaids made a bit more of a scene. Maybe that story received more media coverage so Playbill decided to go a different direction. Oh well. Now that they skipped out on a $10,000 hotel bill and are MIA, maybe they will make next years list if they are ever found
