The rules for making a good impression online seem to be a favorite topic for bloggers and business advice authors everywhere, and they all come down to about the same thing: Be aware of what your clients (and potential clients) will see when they look at or for you and when they communicate with you both directly and indirectly. If you overlook some part of that it will tend to come back to haunt you, but you might never find out why. If you keep losing jobs that you bid you may never hear that they picked someone else after reading your myspace page from high school, but it's something that can do that.
