Variety: "Extension for the show, which kicks off its world preem run today, has been prompted by record box office and 'unprecedented demand for seats,' per the Bay Area theater."
Interesting as a Green Day musical sounds, I imagine it would be a bit flat. To their songs are all of the teen angst variety. A musical needs a balance. If you want your eardrums to bleed listen to them at Madison Square Garden, not Broadway. On the other hand, Passing Strange can do it so we'll see if Green Day can.
I had no idea they where doing this. I agree that a concert would be a better place for Green Day. i kind of want to see where this goes. it also makes me think that we are getting less and less original and are running out of ideas. it makes me as : what will they think of next?
It's interesting to see Ira Pittleman listed as one of the major commercial producer. I would have thought he'd have left the business for good. He got into a nasty argument with Michael Reidel of the NY Post over Reidel considering him a 'fledgling producer.'
On the show - i'm sure it'll sell many tickets, as now that is the goal for shows - commercial and not artistic.

More of the same, more of the same.
