I liked the idea of the zipcar when I first heard about it, and it seems like it would be very convenient for college students, but I think there is only one car at CMU, unless that has changed recently
From what I understand about zipcar it sounds like a really great idea for someone who lives in a city and needs a car only occasionally. It makes a lot of sense for college students too, and I greatly appreciate that their services are available to those under 21. The only issue is that for about $7/hour and the other fees that start to add up, it can quickly become a burden on your wallet. Then again, think about how "green" it is for such a large number of students to share just a couple cars.
I think that zipcar sounds like a great idea for anyone who has time to use it so it will be cost effective - but the reality is that with such a busy schedule it is pretty much useless to have this service.
I think the Zipcar idea is a convenient and efficient utility for students to partake of.
I am a Zipcar member and although I have only been able to use it once in a while, the time and worry that it saves is amazing. To be able to go to three different stores, eat dinner, and just enjoy yourself and not waste time waiting for a bus is priceless. The only thing that is annoying is that reservations are hard to make less than a week before the time. But overall… ZIPCAR ROCKS!!!
