Yamaha Offers Digital Sound Reinforcement 101 Course

FOH online: "Beginning in January 2009, Yamaha Commercial Audio Training Seminars (YCATS) will offer Digital Sound Reinforcement 101 (DSR101) as part of the course selection now offered throughout the year both regionally and at the Buena Park, Calif. headquarters."

Finally, Seeing as Yamaha is still one of the major players in digital sound and the leader for a long time. I was unaware of their commercial audio training seminars, though I intend to check them out. It seems like digital audio would be a natural fit for Yamaha training sessions, and would be something I would love to attend.

I would love to get involved in this. Most major lighting fixture and console manufactures are heavily invested in the education of up and coming designers and technicians. Just this year alone, we have already had Martin, Strand, ETC, and Varilite at CMU. I haven't yet heard of a major sound company offering courses or site visits the way many of the big names in lighting do. Perhaps I'm just stuck in my lighting circle, but this seems like an advancement for the other end of the industry. Looking forward to becoming more familiar with the digital range the Yamaha provides
