Wishes, magic, and fairy tales
The Tartan Online: "It’s the show that won 10 Tony Awards in 1988. It’s been adapted for television and had a revival on Broadway in 2002. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen; it’s another stellar Stephen Sondheim production."

My high school did Into the Woods my senior year. Its a great show with a lot of fun things to do techwise. I'm really excited to see the show here because I worked on it somewhere else.
I am so excited for this show to open. I am on run crew and the sooner it opens the sooner I will have my evenings free again.
Anyho, the show is looking amazing from backstage. All should attend at least one performace
This is a show that I am looking forward to seeing. Mainly because I have seen it before and want to see how CMU does it. The article on the other hand doesn't reveal anything new to us specifically, because we already saw the concept pitch with Kent. I think Kent presented his vision as very fresh and unique and I am excited to see if he can indeed pull it off. I won't lie that I am slightly nervous because I hear that as of Monday, they have yet to run the show in its entirety, but its CMU, so it will be awesome anyway!
I have seen this show a number of times, but I never tire of it. It is so enchanting and the story is a classic. Like the article noted, it is one of the most memorable and amazing musicals in the past 25 years. I just did this show last year, and I can't wait to see CMU's production. After seeing just some of the thousands of hours that go into this production, I am so excited to see the finished, put together product.
I'm probably the only person in American who loves theatre but dislikes Sondheim. Each time I go to one of his shows it's because it's a "must-see," something iconic in the theatre community or Broadway and everytime I come out saying "eh..." I can understand what people see in him, but it just doesn't grab me. However, I will admit that Into the Woods is best work and a lot of that has to do with my enjoyment of fairy tales and their dark side. I have high expectations for a great show and even have my mom coming out to see it. Oh, please have it together for opening night!
I am so looking forward to seeing this show. Having had friend who have been involved with the process since its infancy, I have heard vague notions and exciting ideas about this new production and its adaptation. It is arguably one of the most important pieces on musical theatre of all time and I know that this new, updated version has been allowed some artistic liberties which will undoubtedly give it new perspective and voice.
This show is ripe with opportunity. There are so many aspects that can be explored. I think that shows like this are important because they provide the challenge of discovering what to investigate. Every time the show is produced there are new things that can be done.
I am on run crew in the tension grid for "Into the Woods", and I can say that the show has really evolved in both the design and acting process. It is fascinating to watch the show as a living, breathing entity. I would recommend going twice and sitting in different seats each night to get multiple perspectives.
I am always fascinated by the juxtaposition of opinions between the inner world of the show and the world outside world. I have heard a lot of things about how this show is going from behind the scenes--it's going fine, but there is still much work to be done. I am glad that people are so excited to see it and I hope that the "Woods" production team is able to get everything up and running by the time we get an audience. If all goes as planned, this show won't disappoint (but of course that's always the case)...
Like many who have commented, I am also on run crew for ITW. I think that the show has come along way from our first day of tech last week. It will be very interesting to see how the audience reacts to the show. There are many aspects of the show that requires the audience to suspend their disbelief from the flying and green witches etc. I think that the production is a very ingenious and creative one. The set, lighting, and costume designs are coming together coheisevly and are all playing together well.
I am really excited to see how the audience reacts.! Everyone should come see it!
