I'm not sure what's going on here but if the NLRB is saying the picket is unsanctioned and based on false accusations I'm forced to believe it. I can see how the way the union works in terms of calling labor to work could in some ways mislead the community into thinking that there is a prejudice there but in reality that's just how the union functions. It's interesting to hear this argument because when discussing union regulations and practices in class it seemed there was a "prejudice" against newer workers because of the seniority rules.

Information from the union's perspective on the issue is available at http://www.justiceattheforum.com/ It seems that wages are the underlying issue. While certainly pay cuts are unfortunate, it is not at all clear if they were motivated by financial necessity or by greed of producers. It's entirely believable that in the current economic climate, the union is fighting while the producers have no choice in the matter. Certainly the strike has major economic benefits for other workers and businesses in the city.
