Musical aimed at Facebook generation

TheStar.com: "If you think that show tunes are only for those over 50, then you ought to spend some time talking to the people connected with Edges, the 'rock song cycle' opening tonight with a cast of enthusiastic 20-somethings in a place normally more associated with the club scene than musical theatre."

Good to hear that show is getting produced pretty frequently; I think this is the third production I've heard about in the past year. That facebook song (along with it being a good song cycle) will keep that show growing.

I agree with Serrano with the fact it is about time that a show is directed towards our generation. I would really like to see this because I am all about the new age, new art, new theatre and obviously it has started to evolve more towards us. I am excited to see how good this production is or even how horrible it is but non the less I will be apart of the generation that started the movement!

I think that this is an interesting thought. Our generation is one of instant communication and constant multi-tasking. We are always talking to people through texting, IM, or phone calls and I think that the arts are beginning to reflect that. For a while now my friends and I have been batting around the idea of Facebook, the Musical. I think that, while this show is not just about Facebook, it has the same implications. The show is about communicating with others and the different ways in which we talk.

i think its good to think that they younger and fresh generation is getting more attention as theatre- goers. Many younger people nowadays do not really put a large emphasis of their attention towards theatre. Keep it up guys! Love, Jacob
