JOBOX Tool Chests and Storage

Toologics.com: "The omnipresent JOBOX, aka: gang boxes, have made it to the Toolking Superstore! These useful super-heavy-duty 'boxes/offices' have a variety of uses from a secure tool storage container to a portable field office complete with electricity."

JoBoxes are really useful in an industry that is always moving around. I'm often surprised that more tours don't use already manufactured boxes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ZFX road box was just a JoBox with some casters and plywood bumpers added. It is cheaper and more efficient to use something that someone else is already making and has already perfected than trying to reinvent the wheel.

I think that something this article touched on is really important: that Jobox really listens to what the consumers have to say. They actually go out into the field and ask contractors what they want/need in a tool chest. That is probably the main reason they produce such a good product and are so popular: they make something that works for the people who are buying it.

I am not really sure what to make of the JOBOX. I like big, movable, and indestructible tool cases, especially if they are a little more affordable then some of the other alternatives out there. That being said, it almost looks more like the JOBOX should be anchored to one spot rather then carted around. Maybe it's like the rigging road cases we use, that while they are mobile they very rarely leave the Purnell. It's really nice to hear that the company is very perceptive to feedback, but I would also like to see a real powerful selling point to something like.

While agree with Aaron's statement about how much more efficient it is to use a pre-fab box like these JoBoxes, and while they may be very much at home on a construction site, I find that in most cases, the only thing that will fit our bizarre applications are custom built boxes, cases, shelving, etc. Whenever I'm working a call, I always pay attention to the boxes and carts that roll off the truck. Its always intriguing how people solve different problems or organize their shows. Specifically, designing a well organized and functional personal work box really is any art. I can't wait for the day when I've got the reason and the resources to build one for myself to take across country.
