Dance Review: PBT's 'Gatsby' swings with enthusiasm

Post Gazette: "The Benedum Center was the perfect location for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's nostalgic, yet historically relevant production of 'The Great Gatsby.' Formerly the Stanley Theatre, the Benedum was built in 1927, and, at Friday night's opening performance, the audience could immediately take a bourree back in time viewing a prelude of Prohibition slides with vintage music accompaniment."

Aw! I want to see this! I love the 1920s, and this book is so good. I bet it's a beautiful production. I wish I had time to go see the ballet right now...

I am very excited for this. I think the intense emotions of the plot line of the "Great Gatsby" will translate well to ballet. The imagery of the green light and the spectacles will also be intriguing avenues for the design team to explore! What a wonderful choice!

This sounds like a lot of fun, not only to work on and design, but also to see. I love this classic story and I think that it will present a great energy for the audience to pick up on, and it will give people a familiar story line to follow.
