MODERN GOLDEN AGE OF OPERA IS UPON US

New York Post: "THERE was once some thing called the Golden Age of Opera. I missed it.
When I started my opera-going, it was mostly a landscape of distinguished rather than great singing, occasionally lit up by the flare of a Callas or Sutherland, a Pavarotti or the inextinguishable Domingo.
Now, having seen the opening week of the new Met season (and its gala with a sublime Renée Fleming), I believe we're approaching another operatic Golden Age."
