Tolkien Heirs Sue New Line Over Millions From ‘Rings’
New York Times: "Following in the footsteps of Peter Jackson, the director of the Oscar-winning “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, heirs to J. R. R. Tolkien, the author of the books on which the films are based, are suing New Line Cinema for failing to pay them at least $150 million, which they say they are owed as part of the movies’ gross receipts."

This is so insane. I can't believe the studio thought they could produce such a highly grossing series of movies and then short the director and the family of the original writer. This is cheap and greedy. What's that... studios being unfair with money? Never heard that one before.
