This makes me really want to see Cirque du Soleili. It sounds like they just find the conceive the craziest most dangerous things possible and do them. I wonder also if any of these riggers who worked non stop to get this show up are certified. I feel like especially for a show like this there should be someone who has some kind of certification.

Wow — I'm amazed by what Cirque du Soleil will do. It's impressive that they are essentially flying a part of their tent in the arena, with part of it custom made by Thomas. However, I'm not too surprised that Cirque would do something like that.

Cirque is truly a driving force in bringing out gigantic sense of spectacle to the entertainment industry, but also challenging the current technology and even advancing it beyond normal expectations. I am a huge fan of their productions (the ones aired on TV anyway), and cannot wait to see even more of their work.

It is interesting to read about how they had to work to get Varekai into a theater space. I saw this show when it came to Pittsburgh, and was beyond impressed with what they were able to do in a tent. I'm sure it was a big challenge to figure out how to take what was designed to function in a tent and retrofit it into a completely different space.

You can always count on cirque to push the limits of the entertainment industry. This company is known for its unique shows and spectacular effects, and at the rate they are growing, both globally and in the size of their existing shows, one has to wonder if they might at some point surpass their own precedents. with the size and haste with which these production are done i can easily see a problem occurring in an install or strike, perhaps even a performance.
