Fast Company: "Quick, a word-association test. What word comes to mind when we say 'checklist'?
Here are some candidates: 'basic,' 'routine,' 'dull.' But what if we asserted (with a great dramatic flourish) that your first associations should be 'lifesaving' and 'game changing'?
Yes, we really are that nerdy. But we mean it."

I agree with this article — although something as simple as a checklist can seem like something silly to use, they are really quite useful. In an example similar to the one about hospital ICUs, during my summer job, I was configuring new computers and even though I knew everything that needed to be done, a checklist made it go much smoother because after doing the same thing multiple times, it is easy to forget something trivial. As simple as writing down something is, it is a very effective way to remember the "little stuff" that is easily/accidentally forgotten.
