Quaids Wage War at Equity
Backstage: "Last week the New York Post reported that Actors' Equity Association has banned actor Randy Quaid from the union for life -- the alleged result of a disciplinary hearing conducted by the union. Quaid, who starred as Colonel Falstaff in the musical Lone Star Love at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle last September, maintains that his banishment is part of Equity's collusion with a group of producers who are out to ruin his career."

I think that if Equity had to ban someone it was for good reason. It obviously does not happen very often so it's not like they are just abusing their privileges. I also think it's strange how Randy Quiad allegedly was not an equity member when he got banned from Equity, but then how was he in an Equity show? Maybe he knew what was coming...
I think this whole family sounds a little insane though. Randy Quaid is just mad because his film career ended so he tried theatre and now that career is over. He should try going back to TV and getting a better agent. Then he should get sober and not go crazy and get fired again. His wife however sounds completely insane. That court case that they talked about makes her seem like she is crazy. She should probably calm down and stop fighting her husbands fights for her.
Someday this will be a made for TV movie. We are definitely missing pieces of information here. And with Equity not making any comments there is even more room left for confusion. There is something off with Quaid resigning from Equity, then Equity banning him almost 6 months later.
I would want to ruin Quaid's career too from the reports of his behavior.
Conspiracy theories about Equity? Seriously?
