These are actually very necessary and helpful shortcuts. Although I wouldn't consider them "secrets" exactly. I know last year I was taught at least half of those tips within a single semester. It's very funny to see what designers will do to shave a couple minutes off of a project. Nice info!

Not bad, I bet these will come in more handy when I actually use photoshop enough that I don't have to relearn most of it whenever I use it. Ann's class will hopefully clear up all those pesky issues I seem to have with "layers" and whatnot.

Photoshop is one of the programs I find infinitely useful. My favorite feature that is not a secret at all but people don't seem to know about is quick mask mode. A few years ago when I used to do a lot of publications work, I used the keyboard a lot more than the menus. Same with Indesign. It's been a while, and I have forgotten most of the shortcuts, but I have one interesting one to add. This seems to work across the entire suite, and I discovered it by accident. If you click the scroll wheel, it alternates between normal vertical scroll, horizontal scroll, and zoom. It's not that useful, but when you are on your 9th straight hour, its nice.

Photoshop is all about knowing little tricks that can improve your productivity, final result, and sanity. I've mentioned before at crits that oftentimes I wish Photoshop had a command line like AutoCAD, and these shortcuts help to bring a little more typing and a little less click click clicking to your work in the program.

There are plenty of good shortcuts here, and luckily I have a good memory for these types of things otherwise it would get annoying having to go through all the menus to get to some of the easy stuff you can easily just hit 3 keys for. For those that have trouble memorizing all of them, they also have those nice little keyboards made for specific programs that have all the shortcuts color-coded on the keys themselves, though those cost more than they should...

Yeah, programs like these really just require lots of use. CAD is the same way. You can have the longest, most complete cheat sheet of secrets, but it won't help you if they aren't already in your head.
