I'm glad to see the film industry expanding however I don't want to see it expand into Russia for films like "Captivity". I never saw this film but it certainly wasn't good. Because it's so difficult to make a film today in the film industry I'm glad to see that independent filmmakers or Russian filmmakers can make films for cheaper in Russia and then have them bought by large corporations in America such as Paramount, Universal, Lions gate etc. It's nice when someone has an idea for a film that they cant make becasue of some reason and then get the chance to and have it purchased by a large corporation. One example of this was 2005's Hard Candy which was an indy film that was purchased by Lionsgate. This film actually featured Patrick Wilson, a CMU alum.
