Campus Bomb Threats Mount

Inside Higher Ed: "Some colleges and universities that have been receiving e-mailed bomb threats over the past several weeks encountered a new development Monday morning when they opened messages sent over the weekend claiming that an attack would occur at an unnamed campus today — the anniversary of the September 11 attacks."

I'm wondering what pleasure these people are getting from these online bomb threats. I have heard that we have had three alone since school has started. Luckily, nothing has actually happened, but to kepp its students safe, the University is constantly forced to evacuate its students.

The idea about how the threateners went about emailing bomb threats is really interesting and scary. It requires little actual research on their part, just the need of an internet connection. My question is how did they initially go about choosing the different schools. People keep asking why the bomb threats. The point of terrorism is to create fear and panic. Maybe the reason why the threats have tappered off is that the sheer amount of them makes them seem like a joke, an d therefore not so much fear or panic.
