Yeehaw for sustainability. Lighting would probably be one of the last departments I would think in theater to deal with sustainability. It is very cool that the SE Series was able to find a way to make the lifetime of their fixtures long and less environmentally damaging. I think the one facet of theatre I resent is its waste. While some theatre companies have lots of stock scenery, costumes, fixtures etc there is so much waste. Especially for places like CMU where almost all the scenery is just thrown into a landfill and many resources are eaten up by mistakes due to the fact it is an educational environment where people are still learning and bound to make mistakes. While Love and Money might have made us anti-cardboard in scenery–I do think there is value in using more sustainable resources.
