Fyre Festival 2: Billy McFarland Sets Date Without Booking Artists
consequence.net: “Fyre Festival II is happening April 25, 2025, so we’re seven and a half months away,” McFarland said. “We have a private island off the coast of Mexico in the Caribbean, and we have an incredible production company who’s handling everything from soup to nuts.”

In concept this festival sounds like a really cool challenge to be a part of. Not only does the production company have to worry about how to get all of their equipment, personnel and talent onto the island, but they also have to worry about patron health and safety as well as housing for their personnel. This project seems like one that could be in actuality quite exciting to be a part of, as there are many different aspects of theatre used throughout, that don’t just incompass bands and touring artists, but instead other forms of entertainment. These other forms alone could cause scheduling headaches and headaches in general for the production company. I find it super interesting that McFarland was convicted for wire fraud in connection with his first event and that here he is planning the second event hoping for more artists, patrons and recognition. It will be interesting to see if artists are actually booked for this production and if they will be able to pull off the entire festival in the 7 months they have to plan it.
