Q&A with Telly Leung, Broadway's 'Aladdin' and 'Glee' and CMU alum

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Telly Leung wasn’t that theater kid who took ballet lessons at 3 and had Mama Rose for a mother — his words. He grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of a Chinese immigrant parents, who sent him to a prestigious math and science high school, with every intention of one day being able to say, “Our son, the Harvard doctor.”  What they got was, “Our son, the Carnegie Mellon Broadway star.”

This was such a fun article to read. I think he might have lived in the house next to mine right now. It's really amazing to see alumni who still cite teachers like Judy Conte who still works here today as inspirations. I also read so much about the history of CMU here, Billy Porter directed Company here?! Thats amazing. I don't know if this man is coming to campus anytime soon but I hope that he is able to speak to the student body about his career because I think that he has a lot to say to everyone and we have a lot to learn about this career. It's really great to see people that went to this school and are grateful for their time here because thats the type of energy that's highly needed in our student body. I hope to some day look back and talk about places like Pamela's like he does.
