I never thought I would see an article about Clockenflap on here! I saw the post of Clockenflap’s cancellation like a week or two ago. A lot of people are upset. I was actually really bummed up that I couldn’t go because their lineup had a few indie artists that I love. I’ve been once and the atmosphere there is actually really nice and fun. The protests have affected so many events and businesses. My opinion or anyone’s opinion aside, it is true that the protests are affecting Hong Kong economy. Shops are being destroyed shops are too afraid to open or people are too afraid to go outside and spend their money. It’s actually pretty severe that Clockenflap canceled because of the protests because the music festival takes SO MUCH TIME TO PLAN, artists are booked a year in advance to fly them in internationally, and the organizers just don’t have a record of canceling because of this. I really hope everything will be okay back at home, that everyone will be safe, that violence will stop on both parties, that the government will work in favor of the people.
