I really like what this article says about how the Destinos festival is solving the disconnect between LatinX audiences and LatinX theater. The festival is bringing the theater to the latinX community and bringing LatinX culture the the nonLatinX theater community. I love the idea of performing this theater in Spanish because just how a piece in english will have a different flow in another language, a spanish written piece will have a much more pleasing rhythm in Spanish, thus giving the audience an authentic experience of the piece. The article is right when it says that this festival is important now because we have to remind the Latin community that the theater world is supporting them and we have to remind the nonlatin theater audience that theater can be used to educate more than conservatives but themselves as well.
