www.flyhouse.com: A few years back, Flyhouse installed one of the largest motorized curtains in the United States at the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. Today, we received a video from a friend of Flyhouse showing the curtain in action during one of its recent daily performances. We continue to be excited by this project and love that people share the excitement with us!

Motorized curtains are if you have the electrical and automated support of the device really just as most automated processes are and while curtains are generally not the most advanced form factor the we as industry use automation for it still is cool to me mostly because it lets you have larger and more elaborate setups for your curtain reveals which in the world of theatre more options is generally always good. While watching the video and seeing what the form factor of the curtain was relatively unimpressive in terms of complexity but darn cool in terms scope of how large of curtain they are moving. I also wonder how loud this curtain would be to deploy and retract because that for me is always a large concern of mine when I consider using automation in any of my technical designs. I look to the future where I believe automation will be everywhere.
