Photo Gallery: Magic Wheelchair's Epic Star Wars Fan Experience at Comic-Con 2018!

Tested: One of our favorite activities at Comic-Con is Magic Wheelchair's reveal of costumes to their "kiddos." Last year, the theme was Justice League; this year, it was Star Wars. Well, naturally Adam was all over THAT.

This is so wholesome. Encouraging disabled kids and adults by allowing them to participate in traditional able-bodied events is very inspiring. Cosplay/costume events are highly dominant by able-bodied people, and it is not unheard of for able-bodied people within the cosplay/comic/costume community to shun and exclude disabled (especially physically disabled) participators. It must be very intimidating for a non able-bodied person to attend a costume competition or get together when most if not all others competing/attending are able-bodied. For an organization to create a specially catered event for superhero enthusiasts in a wheelchair opens individuals to a whole community of others who can relate to them, and share common interests. It is also very helpful, and reassuring, to find others who look like you, doing the same thing as you, or succeeding in something you are interested in. all diversity is important and all inclusivity is key.
