The 10 Best Pocket Knives Under $50
Everyday Carry: One of the best tools you can carry with you is a folding pocket knife. It's something that can come in handy more than you might even realize.
For example, think of all the times you've had to open a package. Without a knife, what would you do? You'd probably run off to hunt down a pair of scissors, or struggle to tear through a gunky mess of tape and cardboard using one of your keys (or worse—your teeth!).

It looks from this list that there are two main categories of knife in this section of the market. the knives seem to be either brutally practical while ignoring aesthetics (See RAT II, Roadie), or attractive and relatively strong (My favorite on this list would have to be the Case Medium Stockman 079), but still lacking in overall practicality. I have to say I will be sticking with my Leatherman. The sidekick is a good entry-level knife/multitool that fits into the less than 50$ range. In my experience I haven't found anything more versatile or tough, particularly coming from someone who is hard on multitools. My Leatherman charge has never broken and is as tight as when it was new, overall my opinion is that Leatherman makes the best pocket knives/multitools.
I like that someone took the time to compile a list of durable, affordable knives. So often I hear techies talk about how great their leathermans are, but as someone who doesn't know exactly what I'm looking for in a knife, I don't have enough money to blow on some random leatherman that I don't know anything about. However, I'd have to say that I'm a huge fan of multitools rather than straight knives, which makes me appreciate knives like the Victorinox Pioneer X or the Kershaw Shuffle II more than the other models. However, I think swiss army knife style knifes can sometimes become too cluttered for practical, quick use, so my gerber multitool from home depot is super ideal. It has a kinfe, as rope cutter, screw drivers, pliers, and a bottle opener, which is really all I need in my pocket when I'm working on a ladder.
