This is a great way to outsource to younger people in the theatrical and technical world. Any one can write a creative essay, and with these essays, USITT can also take these submissions and share them with the participating companies, giving them more possible directions to go in. I’ve always liked creative writing, and appreciate opportunities like this, even if I could enter just for fun. USITT is an amazingly famous convention in our theatrical world and going there just to see what is going on this year and getting to see where companies are actually going in the next ten years. Learning and seeing this potential progress is a cool opportunity to have because it puts where you are in the theatrical world in perspective relative to the timeline of progress. So many companies invest their time in USITT, so you really only get to see the best of the best, as well.
