A Broadway Show Pitches to Investors Online
NYTimes.com: The lead producers of this fall’s Broadway revival of “On the Town” are taking the unusual step of turning to the Internet to find investors for their $8.5 million musical. The producers, Howard and Janet Kagan, said on Thursday that they have created a website where any reader can learn about the show and, if they meet certain financial standards, can make an online investment for as little as $10,000 in return for an equity stake in it. To qualify, potential investors must have annual incomes exceeding $200,000 individually or $300,000 jointly, for instance, or have a net worth that exceeds $1 million.
