I hope this gets more attention. The appropriate, or not, application of GFCI outlets has come up for me more than once.
I just visited a recently renovated apartment , yet their electrician installed a non GFCI outlet directly above the sink. That just seems like bad news. On the inverse, I once worked in a venue that had new power lines as a means of show control (push button, complete circuit, fire confetti) Yet, GFCI outlets were installed, rendering the installation useless in some applications.
It definitely is good that more information and advice is being published about them. The revision also contained some good advice about how to avoid accidental trips, which are always annoying.
